The Pradosham series conducted by Nirvikalpa began on a divine note with the performance of the students of Shri G. Narendra — Aparna Devarajan, Aparna Shankar, Shri Vidya, and Aparna Kannan — through the keertanam Ananda Nartana Ganapatim. This vibrant invocation set the stage for a harmonious atmosphere, serving as the perfect prelude to a crisp and mesmerizing one-hour performance that followed, leaving the audience in awe.
The next composition beautifully underscored the essence of Lord Shiva, the cosmic dancer who performs with one leg raised, through the expressive rendition of the kirtanam Kaale Tuki Nindraadum, presented by Aparna Shankar. Her presentation was truly apt, capturing the depth and grace of this profound theme. A heartfelt thank you for bringing this divine imagery to life with such artistry and devotion.
The program seamlessly transitioned into the world-renowned kirtanam Bho Shambho by Shri Dayananda Saraswati, beautifully presented by Aparna Devarajan. This rendition delved deep into the many facets and salient features of the cosmic dancer, Lord Nataraja, celebrating his unparalleled grace and cosmic significance. Her presentation brought out the essence of this masterpiece, leaving the audience spellbound.
The program then transitioned into a captivating piece that glorifies and celebrates Lord Muruga with the enthralling composition Kudithodi varai guhane, presented by Shri Vidya. This piece, performed with grace and devotion, beautifully highlighted the splendor of Lord Muruga, leaving the audience immersed in divine joy and admiration.
The performance then moved on to celebrate the divine mother, Goddess Parvati, with the heartfelt rendition of Karpagame Kanpaarai, presented by Aparna Kannan. This piece captivated the audience, showcasing the performer’s deep devotion and artistry. The powerful presentation resonated with everyone present, earning rounds of applause and heartfelt appreciation.
Mahakavi Subramanya Bharathi’s roaring and enigmatic words came alive as the team presented the electrifying piece Thaka Thaka. The hyper-energetic performance, filled with vibrant expressions and intricate calculations, took the audience by storm. The sheer intensity and fervor of the presentation left everyone inspired and enthralled, showcasing the performers’ unparalleled passion and bhakti.
The theme gracefully concluded with the presentation of a thillana in a gentle and passionate ragam,Kapi. The choice of this mild, pleasant, and soothing ragam brought a sense of serenity and charm to the finale, creating a perfect balance to the high-energy pieces that preceded it. The performance left the audience with a feeling of bliss and admiration for the performers’ artistry and devotion.
Following the Thillana, the performance came to a divine culmination with Adi Shankaracharya’s Prabhum Praananatham. This profound and spiritually elevating piece served as a fitting finale, encapsulating the essence of devotion and reverence. The soulful rendition left the audience in a state of deep contemplation and admiration, marking a memorable end to an exceptional performance.
The coordination among the dancers — Aparna Devarajan, Aparna Shankar, Shri Vidya, and Aparna Kannan — was truly remarkable. Their movements were so synchronized that it seemed as if they were perfectly cloned, moving in harmony as “one body with one soul.” Their boundless energy, coupled with their individual brilliance in presenting one item each, showcased their dedication and exceptional talent.
